FAQ
How do I clean my toys?
To ensure the safety and longevity of the toys, it's essential to maintain them properly. Here's a simple guide for maintaining your avian toys:
1. Regular Inspection:
Check your bird's toys regularly for signs of wear and tear. Look for loose parts, frayed ropes, or damaged components.
2. Cleaning Schedule:
Establish a cleaning routine for your birds' toys, ideally once a week or as needed.
3. Cleaning Steps:
Start by removing the toy from your birds' cage or playground areas.
Gently brush or wipe off any dried poop or debris using a soft brush or cloth.
Use an avian-safe disinfectant or a cloth soaked in cider vinegar for cleaning.
Allow the toy to air dry completely in a well-ventilated space before placing it back.
DO NOT use bleach, alcohol or any other cleaning detergents that that are not explicitly labelled as safe for birds. Bird-unsafe cleaning substances contain chemicals toxic to your avian companions and can cause death.
DO NOT soak the toy in water, as this can damage certain materials and potentially introduce mould or bacteria inside the toy.
4. Rotate Toys:
Consider rotating toys in your birds' cage or their playground areas to keep them engaged and entertained.
By following this maintenance guide, you'll help ensure that your birds' toys remain clean and safe for them to enjoy. Remember that a clean and stimulating environment is essential for your avian friends' physical and mental well-being.
